Airy and light-filled, this Tennessee farmhouse is anything but rustic. Crisp, neutral-colored fabrics, warm wood finishes, and iron floor lamps and fixtures create a casual environment throughout much of the house except for the dining room, where, in the Southern tradition, furnishings were selected for their polish—in other words, a suitable setting for family celebrations. This being a house in the country, the designer introduced classic American pieces to the mix, including a set of Windsor chairs, Bobbin tables and chairs, and an array of hand-woven baskets.
